Sopore Hosts First-Ever Mini Athletic Meet 2025 with Over 1,500 Student Participants

Sopore, September 16, 2025: A historic sporting milestone was achieved today as Sopore town witnessed the successful organization of the first Sopore Mini Athletic Meet 2025. The event was hosted by Government Boys High School Chan Khan in collaboration with the Civil Administration Sopore and the Youth Services & Sports Department, under the banner of Sewa Parv Celebration. Lazzat Foods and Spices proudly sponsored the event.
The meet drew an overwhelming response, with more than 1,500 athletes from government and private schools across Sopore taking part, making it one of the largest school-level sporting events in the region.

The inaugural and medal distribution ceremonies were held with great enthusiasm, celebrating the dedication and achievements of young athletes. Officials from the Youth Services & Sports Department were widely appreciated for their role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Sopore Mr. Irshad Rasool Kar praised the efforts of Headmaster Abdul Rashid War and his staff, emphasizing the vital role of sports in shaping the character and future of the youth. He also commended the collaboration between schools, administration, and local sponsors in promoting a strong sporting culture in Sopore.
