Saslaw of the University of Virginia, USA. His groundbreaking paper on Statistical Mechanics of Cosmological Many-Body Problems drew worldwide recognition, earning him India’s Young Scientist Award (MAAS, 2006).

Over the decades, he has been associated with premier institutions such as IUCAA Pune, BARC Mumbai, and ISRO, contributing over thirty four international research papers, several books, and numerous international conference presentations from Beijing to Cairo, Tehran to Singapore.

His tenure as Chief Proctor and Chairman, Disaster Management Group reflected his calm resolve in times of crisis, especially during the 2014 floods when he led massive relief efforts on campus.

A teacher at heart, his classroom has inspired generations producing Ph.D. and M.Phil scholars who today carry forward his intellectual legacy.

Global Collaborations and Cosmic Recognition

From National Astronomical Observatories of China to University of Kuwait, Dr. Iqbal’s research footprints are etched across continents. His collaborations span the University of Virginia, Cambridge, Kuwait University, TIFR Mumbai, and Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics.

His excellence has been recognized with multiple awards notably the INSA Teacher Award 2021 by the Indian National Science Academy, Government of India, and the Best Science Communicator Award 2022.
