Srinagar: A government teacher has come under scanner for allegedly making derogatory remarks against inhabitants of several villages, in vicinity to his, in north Kashmir’s Handwara.
As learnt by Alfaaz – The Words, the teacher in question wrote on social-media a post and made subsequent comments which apparently are derogatory in nature, aimed at deriding the dignity and honour of inhabitants of several villages, including Krumhoora, Sarmarg, Rajpora, Zachaldara and Ahgam.
Taking a strong exception to the matter, the inhabitants of the villages have approached the Zonal Education Officer’s office Rajwar, and sought strict action for making “derogatory and deriding remarks and comments.”
A local socio-political activist Choudhary Shaheen Bajad, has also condemned the alleged hate statement made by the teacher – residing in Sarmarg village in Handwara.
When contacted, Zonal Education Officer Rajwar Shabir Ahmad Bhadana told Alfaaz – The Words, that a detailed explanation has been sought from the teacher in question. “Making such statements come in violation of laid down Services Rules’,” the Education Officer said. “We have provided him (teacher) 24 hours to clear his position, if he isn’t able to satisfy the office with explanation, action as warranted would be taken.”
