Veshow Literary Festival 2025 Brings Kulgam Alive with Culture, Creativity, and Heritage

Kulgam :The District Administration Kulgam on Thursday organized the 3rd edition of the Veshow Literary Festival, a grand celebration of Kashmir’s art, culture, and literature. The festival, held along the scenic banks of the Veshow River, was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Shri Anshul Garg , in the presence of DIG South Kashmir Javid Iqbal, SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Choudhary, and Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Athar Aamir Khan .

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also participated in the event virtually, extending his greetings and appreciating the district administration’s efforts to promote Kashmir’s cultural and literary spirit. He emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in preserving the Valley’s unique heritage while inspiring young minds toward creative and intellectual growth.

The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various schools, who presented colorful cultural performances, traditional songs, and skits that showcased Kashmir’s rich heritage and linguistic diversity. A series of heritage, art, and book stalls were also set up, displaying the region’s traditional crafts, local literature, and historical artifacts.

In his remarks, Divisional Commissioner Anshul Garg lauded the administration’s initiative and called it a vibrant platform for artists, writers, and youth to celebrate Kashmir’s composite identity. The event also featured poetry recitations, storytelling sessions, and interactive discussions with renowned writers and poets from across the Valley.

The Veshow Literary Festival has grown into one of South Kashmir’s most anticipated annual cultural events, promoting creativity, learning, and unity through literature and art.
