ISRT J&K Chapter Celebrates World Radiography Day 2025 with One-Day Seminar at SET Paramedical Institute, Anantnag

Anantnag:The ISRT J&K Chapter in collaboration with the ISRT Srinagar Academic Club proudly organized a one-day seminar and celebration to mark World Radiography Day 2025, commemorating 130 years of vision in the field of radiography. The event was hosted at the SET Paramedical and Nursing Institute, Bijbhera, Anantnag, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and professionals from across the valley.
The program was graced by eminent medical professionals including Dr. Mir Saiqa Shafi, Head, Department of Radiodiagnosis & Imaging, GMC Anantnag; Dr. Farooq Mir, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Radiodiagnosis & Imaging, SKIMS MCH Bemina; Dr. Imran Nazir Saloora, Consultant and Interventional Radiologist, SKIMS MCH Bemina; and Dr. Tabasum Irshad, Principal, SET Paramedical and Nursing Institute. Mr. Tariq Amin Allaie, Chairman of the institute, also attended the seminar and appreciated the efforts of the organizers for hosting such an enlightening program.
During the seminar, various presentations and lectures were delivered by faculty members and experts to highlight the importance of radiography in contemporary healthcare. The speakers emphasized that radiography is not just a diagnostic tool but a crucial component in disease prevention, early detection, and treatment planning.
Addressing the gathering, Hilal Ahmad, a representative of ISRT Srinagar Academic Club, stated that World Radiography Day serves as “a word behind the walls”—a reminder of the silent yet powerful contribution of radiographers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to save lives. He further added that the day marks the discovery of X-rays by German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen on November 8, 1895, and aims to raise awareness about the essential role medical imaging and therapy play in modern healthcare.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of guests, speakers, and participants, and reinforcing the commitment of radiography professionals to continue advancing medical imaging for better patient care.
