Ahead of Republic Day, Kulgam Police Intensify Security Measures on National Highway

Kulgam: Ahead of Republic Day celebrations, Kulgam Police intensified security arrangements by conducting comprehensive vehicle checking and frisking operations on the National Highway at Alstop, Mir Bazar, to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
The special drive was carried out under the directions of SSP Kulgam, Ananyat Ali Chowdhary, as part of heightened security preparedness across the district. Police personnel were deployed at key points along the highway, where vehicles were stopped and checked thoroughly, and commuters were frisked in a professional and orderly manner.
The operation was supervised by ASP Mumtaz Batthi on the National Highway, with close coordination from DySP Farhan PC and DO Mohammad Mehboob of Mir Bazar. Senior officers remained present on the spot to oversee the checking process and ensure that standard operating procedures were strictly followed while minimizing inconvenience to the public.
Officials said the drive focused on verification of vehicle documents, identification of suspicious movement, and enforcement of security and traffic norms. Commuters were urged to cooperate with the police, carry valid identification, and adhere to traffic rules.
