JKBOSE declares Class 10 results, 84% qualify exams

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday announced the results of the annual regular examinations for Class 10, recording an overall pass percentage of 84.04 percent.
According to officials of the board, more than 94,000 students appeared in the Class 10 annual regular examinations, which commenced on November 3 across the Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of the Jammu Division. To ensure smooth conduct of the examinations, JKBOSE had established 994 examination centres across the Kashmir region.
Officials said that out of the total candidates, 68,804 students were enrolled from the ten districts of the Kashmir Division, while 25,224 students belonged to eight districts of the winter zone areas of the Jammu Division. In addition, 660 students from Kargil district and 95 students from Leh district also appeared in the examinations.
Earlier, the board had stated that nearly 95,000 students were enrolled to take the Class 10 exams this year, making it one of the largest examinations conducted by JKBOSE.
It is pertinent to mention that JKBOSE had granted a 15 percent syllabus relaxation for students of Classes 10, 11 and 12. The decision was taken following recommendations from the Directorates of School Education Kashmir and Jammu, as well as requests from stakeholders, citing delayed academic sessions and disruptions caused by heatwaves, torrential rains, cloudbursts and floods.
