Budgam,:-Locals from Makhuma village of Central Kashmir’s Budgam village Friday staged protest against R&B for failing to repair a bridge that connects dozens of hamlets.
The said bridge over the Nala Sukhnag at Makhama Paripora Magam in Budgam district became impassable due to flash floods in June this and so far this bridge has not been repaired by Roads and Buildings Department.
Locals said that the villages like Rathsun Cheewdara Makhuma, Ohangam have been disconnected from the district headquarters. They appealed to authorities to erect a new bridge for the convenience of the general public.
In response to the protest, Executive Engineer Budgam told KNT that they have already forwarded the DPR (Detailed Project Report) of Rs 2.36 Crore which is awaited.
