Srinagar: A military operation against militants started in Nagmarg forest area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday morning.
Officials informed that the operation started when the joint teams of forces launched a search operation in the area.
“As the search party proceeded towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired indiscriminately upon them, which was retaliated, leading to the operation,” they said.
The intermittent firing was going on when the report was last filed.
Notably, this is the fifth military operation in north Kashmir after Bandipora, Kupwara and Sopore areas. (KNO)
