Agriculture Minister Reviews Stalls at Anantnag Kisan Mela
Anantnag : The Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare, Anantnag, organised a Kisan Mela and Exhibition today under the SMAE–ATMA programme, showcasing innovations in farming and promoting agricultural awareness.
Agriculture Minister Javed Dar, the chief guest, appreciated the department’s efforts in educating farmers on modern techniques, government schemes, and sustainable practices. The event featured a fruit and vegetable show and stalls displaying improved seeds, advanced farm machinery, fertilisers, and cultivation methods. Departments such as Sericulture, Fisheries, Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Apiculture, Mushroom Cultivation, Floriculture, and Soil Testing also showcased their latest developments.
The Minister, accompanied by MLA Ghulam Ahmad Mir (Dooru), MLA Altaf Ahmad Wani (Pahalgam), MLA Reyaz Khan (Anantnag East), MLA Majeed Larmi (Anantnag West), and Sartaj Ahmad Shah, Director Agriculture Kashmir, reviewed the stalls and interacted with farmers and self-help groups.
The mela provided farmers with insights into modern agricultural practices, aiming to enhance productivity and income while encouraging adoption of sustainable farming methods.
