Public, nedia users asked to avoid sharing rumours, fake news, edited videos; online activities under close surveillance
Issuing a strong warning against the circulation of provocative and misleading content, Kupwara Police on Friday advised media personnel, social media users, and the general public to strictly refrain from posting or sharing any material capable of disturbing communal harmony, public peace, and law & order in the district.
As per news agency JKNS, Media personnel, social media users, and the general public are advised not to post, publish, share, circulate, or endorse any content that is provocative, inflammatory, communal, misleading, anti-national, or capable of disturbing public order and harmony.
All are requested to refrain from spreading unverified information, rumours, fake news, edited videos, or objectionable material on any platform.
Such content should be reported to the concerned platform or law enforcement authorities.
Online activities are being closely monitored, and strict legal action shall be taken against anyone found involved in creating, publishing, sharing, or promoting content that disturbs peace and public order. (JKNS)
