Area cordoned off, search operation launched
Srinagar, (KDC): A police personnel who was injured in a firing incident in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday has succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
officials The deceased policeman has been identified as Ashiq Hussain. He sustained critical injuries after gunshots were heard in the Kotwal Gali area of Anantnag town and was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, where he later succumbed despite efforts by doctors to save him.
Soon after the incident, security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. A massive search operation has been launched to trace those responsible and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the firing.(KDC)
