Kupwara: A 11-year-old student died after being hit by a auto rickshaw in Lalpora Lolab in Kupwara district, on Friday afternoon.
Reports said that one Arbina Parvaiz, daughter of Parvaiz Ahmad Mir, was fatally hit by an auto-rickshaw near bus stand Lalpora, while she was coming back from school.
The minor girl was evacuated to NTPHC Lalpora from where she was referred to SDH Sogam where she was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
A police official confirming the incident said that a case has been registered in this regard for further investigations.
Meanwhile, expressing their resentment over the tragic incident, a group of locals sought immediate action by authorities against the drivers who, they say, have been habitual of driving speedily in complete disdain to concern for human lives and the established traffic norms.
