The Department of Political Science, Government Degree College Ganderbal organised “Youth Parliament” on the theme “One Nation One Election” (ONOE) on 26 May 2025 under the banner of Viksit Bharat in the college Auditorium. The programme was attended by the worthy principal Prof Fouzia Fatima and faculty members. Dr. Salma Head of the Department gave the brief outline of the theme One Nation One Election. Worthy Principal highlighted the importance of Youth Parliament as a space for debate and discussion. She stated that this type of platform is important in a democratic set up like ours, as it provide students with an opportunity to nurture communication skills, develop confidence, critical thinking and tolerance. More than 150 students from various semesters attended the program. In all 22 students spoke on the theme and outlined the pros and cons of the idea of One Nation One Election (ONOE). Among the participants the following three students were recognised for their best performance on the theme. They are as follows:
First position Holder Shakeel Ahmed roll no 230670 from 4 semester
Second position Mubashir Ahmed Sheikh roll no 230679 from 4 semester
Third position Maheen roll no 230781 from 4 semester
The program was concluded by the remarks of Dr Yasir, Dr Subzar, and Dr Farooq.
